The IBS is a joint research institute comprising the CEA (the contracting authority), the CNRS and the Joseph Fourrier University. Its activity is centred around fundamental biological research. The new 9 000 m2 building will notably include Class L2 research labs and specific scientific platforms such as the RMN (nuclear magnetic resonance) and electronic microscopy. Cap Ingelec is responsible for the prime contracting for the technical lots (strong and weak currents, heating-ventilation-air conditioning, special fluids and gases, toilet plumbing) and High Environmental Quality, and has shared the project between its Toulouse (design) and Lyon (works supervision) offices. The general design proposed by Cap Ingelec will live up to the modern building standards of this research institute.
