GIRONDE PREFECTURE AIR CONDITIONING RENOVATION (33)

The Building housing the Prefecture and the General Council of the Gironde was edified in 1978 in the centre of Bordeaux in the district of Mériadeck. Taking account of the age of the building and the numerous malfunctions of the technical equipment, a total renovation project of the air conditioning systems was launched in 2004 by the two administrations occupying the building. The objective was to re-establish an all seasons compatible hygrothermal comfort level with the wellbeing of the occupants, while simultaneously achieving a significant reduction in operating costs, and also achieving a lasting development
Cap Ingelec carried out the general project management at the head of a team composed of an architect and an OPC. The means put into action to achieve the level of comfort for all seasons influenced the production of hot water by a heat pump connected to a geothermal reserve, replacing the electric coil hydro accumulators.
A mixing rate of 2 volumes per hour was put into place in all the zones of the office, replacing the air-only treatment as well as the dynamic beams per office. Automatic regulation by room enabled the management of light intensity, the functioning of the electric blinds and the temperature was installed as well as high efficiency motors (EFF1). The light sources were replaced by energy saving models. The ventilation networks were cleaned or changed.
This heavy refurbishment was carried out on a site occupied by 4 successive stages of works in order to ensure the displacement of the building's personnel.
