RFF
A HIGHLY SENSITIVE PROJECT IN RECORD TIME
With the introduction of digital technologies and GSM-R (Global System for Mobile communication for Railways), the RFF railway network is modernizing and evolving towards a communication system with greater potential. This new GSM-R network core will be housed in a new building, with the switch to R4 technology. The Major Projects Department of RFF has entrusted Cap Ingelec with a mission of design and execution project management. The mission includes an operation of depollution of the new site. The electrical installation integrates a high quality current (400 Vac) and 48 V direct current, relatively rare for a computer room. The high density of links between the rooms is the other particularity of the project. In terms of security and cooling, no breakdown is tolerated.

“Cap Ingelec is used to working on comparable problems, notably for the Civil Aviation since 1992. The thirteen month deadline to carry out the studies and the construction was a strong constraint. To meet this challenge, the project management bid was submitted with the building plans and technical drawings at the APS level in order to proceed with the detailed design. We were in the starting blocks to get started!” Christophe Lavigne, Technical Director of Cap Ingelec
